The first book in this series was out of print for a long time. Then the second was reprinted. Now this long hinted at conclusion to the trilogy is in print. I devoured it in less than 24 hours after it was released. It was worth the wait! But I have mixed feelings after reading the story. The Good, I absolutely loved it! And both the bonus short story and bonus section. The Bad, Karina has indicated at the end of the book in the authors notes this is the end of Neeta Lyffe Stories. The Ugly there are still several books in her back catalogue I have yet to read, but still no more Ted and Neeta Lyffe! Sadness!

I have been a fan of Fabian’s works for years, but only in the last few have really dug into the cannon and read across most of her series and stand alones. If you have not read her works yet and are hesitant  I suggest you pick up The Worlds of Fabian Space A Story Sampler. But if you have read Zombie Death Extreme Neeta Lyffe, Zombie Exterminator, and I Left My Brains in San Francisco this is a must read! But back to this volume. The description of this story is:

“When Neeta is invited to a ski contest in Utah to promote HumVans and a national charity, she and Ted think it’s vacation at last! After all, no one’s seen a zombie in Utah in years! They’re looking forward to two weeks of skiing, relaxing, and finally finding time to set a wedding date.

But when competitors from last year’s contest who died in an avalanche come back to finish the runs themselves, Neeta and Ted will have to shred with the undead!”

Ted and Netta are on vacation, well sort of a working vacation. They are on the ski hills of Utah for an extreme sports event. She is there as part of her obligation to promote HumVans. They are also trying to use the time away to plan their wedding. But things often do not go according to plan. Especially for Lyffe, the most famous Zombie Exterminator on the planet. Netta and Ted are not surprised there is the first Zombie outbreak in years while they are in the area. And these undead were among the best skiers and boarders on the planet in life. And unlike most undead who slow down in colder climates, these ones seem to have more speed and skill than in life. 

When you throw in some unknown estranged family. A resort owner focused on the bottom lime. And a Zombie response team that has never encountered live zombies out side training scenarios and you are in for some serios action and some big time laughs.

At the end of the story is a bonus short story Neeta Lyffe and the Best Career Day Ever an absolutely awesome story set many years after this volume. Also a collection of bonus content, Karina states:

“I had a bunch of other stuff included in the original version, which was funny (or at least I thought was funny) but in the end, took away from the main story instead of adding to it. I offer it here for kicks and giggles. Enjoy.”

If they had been included throughout the story it would have had more of a StarShip Troopers or feel like the Tv Show Sports Night. But even just reading them at the end was hilarious. 

In this story Netta learns to snow board, and to rekill the undead in a colder climate. On the Hills and in the woods. Combine that with wedding plans. A big scare with Ted, and a fans of both Netta and extreme sports congregated at a resort in the hills. This story makes for excellent action and several laughs!

I absolutely loved this book. It should be noted again that no zombies were hurt in the researching and writing of this story. If you like humorous fiction with excellent writing, great characters and fun stories, this book and series are for you. I encourage you to pick it up and give it a read. I am certain it will entertain 

Another great read from the ever entertaining and often surprising and very gifted pen of Karina Fabian.
