PowerStands - Tony Horton

PowerStands

There are dozens of varieties of push-up stands on the market, some that pivot, some that swivel. Some made from metal, plastic and even wood. So what makes these ones worth the extra money? All I can say is they are. I went to two different fitness stores locally and checked out all the models at both Wal-Mart and Zellers and some were ok, some were flimsy and a few I did not even trust enough to try. These PowerStands designed by Tony Horton and produced by
Beachbody were a lot more money. They are almost twice the price of even the standard model they sell and up to four times as expensive as the cheapest set I could find locally. At $39.95 plus $12.95 shipping and handling, I was leery about spending the money on something I had not tried. But I had heard some good things in the teambeachbody.com forums, and have found their other products trustworthy so decided to give them a try. They have not disappointed.

These are a fantastic product. I have used them on carpet and hardwood floors with no issues. The photos on the website do not do them justice. They are very well constructed and heavyweight. With solid welded construction, they come preassembled and ready to use. I had them shipped to work and when they arrived at work a few guys tried them and loved them immediately. The sloped hand grips can be used for a variety of exercises. They have helped me improve my form, quantity and quality of push-ups, pike presses and even dips. I can only emphatically state that they were a fantastic addition to my home gym and for the price, one of the best investments I have made in exercise equipment.

(Disclaimer: I am asked frequently if I am a Beachbody Coach, no I am not, I am just some one who has used their products, P90X, 1on1 with Tony Horton and more and liked them and achieved good results. I am not paid by Beachbody or any of their affiliates. You can see my full disclaimer here.)

That's it...you've convinced me! I'm going to break down and buy these babies tonight!

Question...how tough is the quality of the foam on the handgrip? You made this post some time ago so how have they held up since?

They held up great wear marks when I hold them from body oils but no damage or deterioration.
