Wow, another great offering in an excellent series. I am still so thankful I gave this series a try, it was highly recommended from an author I love. I read this volume and the other 4 shorter works on the same day.
The earlier stories in this series were novellas then a full length novel and 7 and 8 are novels. All of the stories in this series are excellent reads. I am glad that there is a that an ninth volume that has been announced , but alas no release yet.

There are now 12 stories that I am aware of in the Murderbot universe. * novels and 4 short stories. I believe all the short stories were published in collections or magazines and then as individual eBooks. With each story I read I am enjoying the world building more. The characters are fantastically written. And the plots amazing. This one has a couple of different subplots.
Murderbot is again on a mission to rescue members of his new community. They have been isolated on a torus-shaped space station, a ring habitat. Unfortunately this one is spilt into many different zones. And each operates almost independently. Some are easier to navigate and some are much more dangerous. And not only is Murderbot trying to save those he has been charged with retrieving, he is also forced to take some extras for extraction as well. Some are independent and some are owned and operated by Corporate entities. Barish-Estranza is once again after them. Can Murderbot save the day yet again? To find out, read this excellent novel.
The corporate dystopia portrayed in these novels is well done. And Well’s rehumanizing Murderbot as he spends more and more time with the same humans is fascinating to read. This is a great read I can easily recommend. For fans of the series or those just looking to give it a try. I am certain they will be hooked. An excellent offering in a great series!
