This book is a fun story, but in today's zero tolerance age, defending himself might not be appreciated. Noodles has his bone taken by a bully and he wants it back. The book is towards the lower end of the level 1 reader's simple words and short sentences. There is also a work list of words that end the same at the end of the book. I loved the story and the book, but many parents might not appreciate it.
