Product Review - Philips HU4805/40 Series 2000 Humidifier

Philips HU4805/40
Series 2000 Humidifier

I got this product to test in the summer. This really is the wrong season for humidifiers, especially in southern Ontario, where we often run dehumidifiers in the summer. But I unpacked the whole thing and gave it a quick test to make sure it was performing as expected, and then started really using it this past week. Overall I am very happy with this model. We have had 1 other humidifier that used wicks like this one does, and over time the replacement wicks can get costly. In fact we stopped using that one when wicks got too expensive and hard to track down. But the nice thing about this style is that you do not get the mineral deposits or white dust from the device running.

• Smart controls include automatic humidity settings and
• Built-in humidity sensor that gives numerical feedback
• Quiet mode
• Easy to fill tank
• Easy to clean
• Perfect for bedroom or nursery

Living where we do we have really hard water. One of the problems with that is even with a water softener, mineral buildup is an issue. It will be interesting to see how the wicks in the model hold up over time. I will update the review once I have a better idea. But overall all indications are this looks like a very promising device that we will use for a long time to come. It is a very good design. It is smaller than I expected and also much quitter, on all three fan settings Low, Normal, and High.

Overall very impressed and looking forward to using this for a long time to come.
